While the exact number is unknown, approximately 5,000 refugees will be temporarily housed at Base Borden and Meaford Tank Range.  Many of them forced to leave their home with only the clothes on their backs.

With winter well underway, the Barrie Foot Clinic is launching a 

Boot, Shoe and Sock Drive

to help ensure that no refugee adult or child will face the cold weather without adequate protection.

Donations of boots, shoes and gently used socks will be accepted until February 19, 2016 and distributed to the collecting agencies.
